General Regulations H.S.V. De IJzeren Man

HSV De IJzeren Man has established a number of rules to ensure that fishing on our ponds runs smoothly. In addition, supplementary regulations apply to night fishing. These rules can also be downloaded as a PDF file if required.

Please note: In the event of a violation of any of the articles in these regulations, you will be deemed to be fishing without written permission in accordance with Article 21 of the Fisheries Act.

Art. 1 GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1

To be allowed to fish on our ponds, you must hold a valid fishing permit. Only our own members are allowed to fish on the Cocody pond.

1.2

Fishing is permitted with a maximum of two rods on our ponds. Therefore, the third-rod permission from the Sportvisunie is not valid here.

1.3

Night fishing is only allowed for our own members who hold a night fishing permit from the association. Therefore, the night fishing permission from the Sportvisunie is not valid here.

1.4

You must treat the fish with respect. This means playing, unhooking, and handling the fish in such a way that it can be returned undamaged. See also FISH SAFETY.

1.5

 Once you have caught a fish, you must return it to the pond where it was caught as quickly as possible. Taking fish home is strictly prohibited at our club!

1.6

 You are a guest in nature. This means you are not allowed to prune trees or bushes yourself. If you would like something pruned, you can send a message to info@de-ijzerenman.nl. The board will then make a decision regarding your request.

1.7

 The use of a toilet bucket or a small shovel for "number two" is mandatory.
1.8

The following general matters are not appreciated and are prohibited at our location:

  • Bloodworms (Verse de vase);
  • Open fires and BBQs;
  • Using a boat or belly boat to go onto the water;
  • The use of marker buoys;
  • Swimming in the fish ponds. 1)

1) If it is absolutely necessary for the safety of a fish (e.g., a fish that has become snagged), you are allowed to enter the water. However, it is up to the association's bailiffs, BAOs (special enforcement officers), and the Police to assess this.

Art. 2 FISH SAFETY
2.1 The use of a spacious landing net is mandatory. Use common sense! A carp folded double in a net that is too small is not acceptable.

2.2

 The use of an unhooking mat is mandatory.
2.3

The use of a keepnet or any other means to retain caught fish is not permitted. This excludes competitions organized by the board.

2.4

 You must keep a caught fish wet with fresh pond water during unhooking, weighing, and photographing.
2.5

You may only fish with fish-safe systems. This is to prevent a lost fish from swimming around with the lead attached.
2.6 Fishing with a shock leader (voorslag) is not permitted. This prevents a fish from becoming snagged in the event of a line break. A leader with a maximum length of one meter is allowed, provided it is used in a fish-safe manner.

2.7

It is not permitted to fish with a braided main line. This avoids the risk of torn lips caused by playing the fish too hard combined with a lack of stretch in the line.

Art 3. LIABILITY

3.1

The association accepts no liability whatsoever for damage to persons and/or property resulting from an accident, injury, theft, etc., during and as a consequence of staying at the association's ponds.

Art 4. FINAL PROVISIONS

4.1

You must follow the instructions published by the board at the ponds. For example, keeping the ponds clear due to competitions.

4.2

In all cases not provided for by these regulations, the board shall decide.
